Madison4Kids is excited to announce that we have provided Toki Middle School with a $250 grant for their annual marathon, which took place on May 13th, 2016. The grant helped to fund event materials and supplies such as fliers, t-shirts, water for hydration and refreshments after the event.
The Toki Marathon helps motivate and educate students about healthy living and staying physically active. This event raises money to fund health and wellness projects throughout the year and teaches students the importance of achieving and maintaining positive lifestyle choices.
The Toki Marathon allows kids that are involved in the event to gain a better understanding and respect for their own body and health. This knowledge allows them to have a better perception of themselves and while also helping to influence their peers outside of the school to lead a healthier lifestyle.
The Toki Marathon provides students with the opportunity to be involved in the planning and execution of the event. The students have a Toki Marathon t-shirt design contest and the winning design is used as the artwork for the front of the event’s t-shirt. In addition, the students encourage their neighbors and friends in the community to sponsor them for the miles they run.
